Arrest of a Teacher

Posted Date: 9/10/24 (3:23 PM)

Dear SUSD Community,

The Soledad Unified School District was informed by local law enforcement that a teacher at Main Street Middle School was arrested on September 9th.  The staff member has been placed on administrative leave and will not return to the school setting on an indefinite basis.

We have been advised that the arrest was for having a sexual relationship with a former high school student. Due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further at this time.

Our focus is on the safety and wellbeing of our students and we will continue to cooperate with the police investigation in any way we can.

Anyone with information that may be relevant to this case is advised to contact the Soledad Police Department at (831) 223-5120. We wanted our families to be aware of this situation.

Thank you for your attention to this update.

Sincerely,

Randy Bangs

Superintendent
