Staff Housing Project Update

Posted Date: 9/29/25 (9:00 AM)

Dear Soledad Community,

We wanted to share the progress on our Soledad USD Staff Housing Project, a milestone initiative made possible through the community’s support of Measure N. This development will provide 20 one- and two-bedroom apartments exclusively for our teachers and classified staff, giving them the opportunity to live in the same community where they work and serve our students.
Over the past year, we have worked through many important steps to make this project a reality:

  • Land acquisition and lot line adjustments with the City of Soledad
  • Approval of an affordable housing agreement and project financing
  • Collaboration with our partners Education Housing Partners, 19six Architects, and Ausonio Construction to finalize design and construction plans
  • Coordination with the City on public improvements that will benefit both the housing project and the surrounding neighborhood
Construction is well underway and we are, as of now, on schedule for a July 2026 completion. The renderings herein, bring to life the vision of high-quality, modern housing for our valued staff. While the process has taken longer than expected, each milestone brings us closer to welcoming employees into their new homes. The Staff Housing Project is more than just construction—it is an investment in the future of Soledad. By creating stable and affordable housing for our team, we will better attract and retain highly qualified teachers and staff, ensuring that Soledad students continue to receive the best education possible.
We are deeply grateful for the continued support, patience, and trust of our community as we move forward. This project reflects what we can achieve together when we invest in our people and our future.
Stay tuned for more updates as we reach new milestones on the development.

Sincerely,
Randy Bangs
Superintendent
